David Blumberg is Clarinet Faculty at the Philadelphia International Music Festival, where he teaches alongside members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He is a performer and clinician, and recently gave masterclasses and lessons at the Köln, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Utrecht Conservatories in 2015. He performed in 2016 at the Amsterdam Clarinet Festival, and was a featured recitalist and clinician in London at the 2016 CASS 40th Anniversary Symposium. He has performed around the globe, including in Shenzhen, China, with Hong Kong Philharmonic Members. He plays 1st Clarinet with the National Band “Windworks” of Washington, DC, and is Principal Clarinetist of the Seabrook Opera. In December, he teaches in Spain at the Agaete International Clarinet Festival. His students have won competitions including First Runner-up in the 2012 International Clarinet Association's "Orchestral Audition Competition.” His student Jay S. is a member of the 2016 Carnegie National Youth Orchestra. Mr Blumberg opened the masterclass for the legendary retired Berlin Philharmonic principal clarinetist Karl Leister at the 2015 ICA ClarFest in Madrid, Spain.
