About

After graduating from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Hidemi played full-time with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and was featured as a soloist for several concerts. He was also invited to join the Affinis Music Festival three times, playing with Mr. Larry Combs (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Mr. Wolfgang Meyer (Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, Germany), and others.

Hidemi was Principal Clarinetist of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra until retiring in 2020, though he is still active as a clarinet instructor at theTokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and Toho Gakuen School of Music. 
  
As a soloist, Hidemi performed Mozart's Basset Clarinet Concerto with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in 2006, and released his first solo CD "Spurn Point" in 2013. 
  
He took his part in making three CD albums of the Euros Ensemble (a woodwind ensemble) and five CD albums of The Clarinet Ensemble.  

Furthermore he actively joined the JYACMS as a guest player, Art Respirant, and Tokyo Kreis Ensemble. He has also performed in the various music festivals, such as the Miyazaki International Music Festival since 2002 and Kirishima International Music Festival since 2006.

Hidemi serves as one of the judges for The Music Competition of Japan and many other clarinet contests.
