Jorge Hernán Levin González, born in Puerto Octay, Los Lagos region in Chile. He initiated his musical studies in the Carolina Klagges Music Conservatory of the city Osorno in Chile and later he studied Superior Musical Interpretation in Clarinet, in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile.

He is one of the main clarinetists of the chilean musical medium being recognized as a great teacher and trainer of young talents, in addition to being a permanent actor of the musical medium, doing soloists concerts and chamber music from the classical romantic and contemporary repertoire.

Since 1997 he is soloist and head of the clarinets in the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra ot the National Opera Municipal Theater of Chile, where he has worked with recognized orchestra conducters and international singers.

He is instructor of the woodwind ensemble and clarinet teacher in the Youth and Children’s Orchetra Foundation of Chile and director of the ensemble of woodwinds OSNJ and OSEM with whom has performed in the principal rooms of the capital of Chile and Argentina, like the Salon Dorado of the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires.

He has dictated masterclasses in the musical schools in Chile and in the Music Academy of  Teatro Colon.

Faculty member of the Clarinet chair of the musical institute “Escuela Moderna de Música y Danza”.

He was the principal clarinet teacher in the Festival Campos do Jordao, Sao Paulo, Brazil (1996).

He formed part of the wind quintet “Pro Arte” with whom he made Concert tours in Germany, France and Brazil.

He has been member of the chamber music groups “Quadrivium Contemporary Music Ensemble”, “Philharmonic Wind Quintet of the Municipal Theatre of Santiago” with which develops itinerary works around Chile.

He participated and took classes with the teachers: Ricardo Morales, whom he admires and considers a permanent guide, Eric Lamberger, Richard Rimbert, Alain Damián, Jacques Merrer, Robert Spring, Stanley Drucker, Michael Dumuchel, Eli Eban, between others.

With the Quadrivium Ensemble, he recorded works by contemporary chilean composers, 2001.Acoustic and electroacoustic contemporary music, ATRAC works, 1999 from the composer José Miguel Fernández, for clarinet and computer.

Contemporary music for ensembles of the composer Andrés Maupoint, Gabriel Mathey.

As soloist he has performed together with the orchestras: Antofagasta Symphonic, Copiapó Symphonic, New Symphonic of Providence, Andrés Bello University Camerata, National Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Chile, Symphonic Orchestra of San Luis Argentina, and Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago of the Municipal Theatre of Santiago of Chile in their official international season.

Manager of the first clarinet meeting of Chile in the Youth and Childrens’s Orchestra Foundation of Chile. 2005-2008-2012.

In July of the year 2012 until 2014 he is resident artist of the Music Mundi Festival, in Brussels, as a clarinet and chamber music teacher.
