The Craftsmanship of the Backun Protege
Not often that one meets a work of craftsmanship. The Backun Bb Protege Clarinet is simply that. Lovely to play, performs well top to bottom and thrilling for the listener of my little compositions. Looking forward to many playful years with a licorice stick manufactured in my own back yard of Vancouver

Deep impression of my Backun Protege
Just receive my new Backun Protege clarinet. The communication with the team is very good, I almost miss my new one because of the shortage of supply chain material. But under the help of teambackun they found the product I need finally. Backun's gredanilla wood is supreme and manufacture craftmanship is amazing. I found the sound is deeper and darker than my Buffet E series and In the aspect of finger feels even smoother. That's just the first day I'm trying on the new backun. I do think after the break-in period, the new instrument will give me more surprises.

My new cocobolo gold Protege is gorgeous
This is a beautiful clarinet and after the first ten minutes of playing I love its rich, full sound. The keys are lovely to play and although I am a beginning clarinetist (1 month) I am looking forward to learning on this marvelous instrument.

Chuffed!
I'd been limping along as an adult learner for two years on my mother's trusty Bundy and on an "eBay Special" (Selmer Signet 100), and decided that I was at a level in my studies where I deserved a better sounding instrument. I've played my new Protege for all of 15 minutes and am just loving the difference it promises to make in my progress. Throat tones are way less stuffy and match the clarion register. I really like the key action. I am impressed with the quality of this instrument and proud to have supported a Canadian company.

Backun Protege
It has a beautiful sound and solid easy to play keys. It's a little heavier than the 1965 Buffet that I have been playing.
